VETERANS BENEFITS
We Can Help!
The Veterans Aid & Attendance program is a non-service connected pension that can be paid to a wartime veteran or their surviving spouse tax-free. Benefits can be used to pay for assisted living facility expenses, home health care and home modifications so that the veteran/surviving spouse can remain in their home.
Aid & Attendance Pension Rates
- Single Veteran $2,300/month
- Married Veteran $2,7272/month
- Surviving Spouse $1,478/month
- VA Asset Limit (eff. 12/01/2023): $155,356
In 2018, the VA made some dramatic changes in how net worth is determined and implemented a 3 year look back period for assets that have been transferred. There are many differences in the way assets and income are treated by the VA and Medicaid.
